Frequently Asked Questions

Find below the most frequently asked questions, if you can’t find the answer to your question below feel free to contact us from our contact form or give us a call on 0800 255 155.

General

What do I need to send you?

As a responsible lender, we need to identify you and also make sure you can afford the loan repayments.

We need a valid photo ID such as a Passport or Driver’s License. The easiest way to do this is to email us a photo taken from your phone.

We also need confirmation of your income & expenses, we get this by requesting the last 90 days of your bank statements. You will be provided with a secure link that authorises us to view your statements online.

Your consultant will go through this with you.

How do I get my information to you?

The easiest way to provide a photo ID is to email us a photo taken from your phone.

We also need confirmation of your income & expenses, we do this by requesting the last 90 days of your bank statements. You will be provided with a secure link that authorises us to view your bank statements online.

Anything else required can be emailed to us.

What happens once I have completed the application?

Firstly, you will receive an email acknowledging receipt of your application and advising who your Loan Consultant is and their contact details.

Your consultant will request the last 90 days of your bank statements and Photo ID, then proceed to complete your application fully.

Once the application is ready your Loan Consultant will send it off to the lenders for approval, this typically takes between one and two hours and your consultant will contact you if we have any queries or need to clarify anything.

You have approved my loan what happens now?

We will arrange to talk on the phone so we can discuss and disclose all of the loan details with you, this phone call will be followed by an email to reconfirm all of the loan details.

We then have your loan documents sent through to you – 99% of the time they will be emailed and can be signed online with no printing or witnessing requirements.

What happens once I sign everything?

Once the contract has been accepted you are basically done!

Depending on your approval, there may be one or two more things we need to satisfy all of the lender’s loan conditions such as settlement letters so we can pay off other debts for you.

Funds can then be paid to you!

Depending on which bank you’re with, you will receive your funds later that day. If they are returned after 3.30PM the funds may not go through until the following day (it depends on the lender too).

What if I have poor credit or defaults?

We can normally assist if we know the circumstances. In most cases we can still help if your current credit is up to date and your bank statements show good conduct.

Sometimes we will require security to be added to the loan, this could be a vehicle or a home.

Who will see my application?

We treat your application confidentially and the only people who will see your application are us and any Finance Company that we send it to.

I can’t find the answer to my query?

Debt Consolidation

What debts can I consolidate?

We can consolidate all debts.

Typically the best outcome for the customer is to consolidate all existing debts into the new loan. This leaves you with only one payment to keep track of in the future.

The solution that your Loan Consultant arranges for you will be based on your specific needs and goals, and what is possible for us to have approved for you by the lenders.

Do you pay debts directly?

Yes.

We can pay debts directly to settle them for you if we have a Settlement Letter with the account details and amounts for us to pay. Otherwise, we will pay the funds to your bank account and you can pay them yourself.

This can depend on the loan conditions, sometime the lender will require us to pay the loan directly from the loan funds so they can be sure it’s been settled in full.

Can I get some cash at the same time?

Yes.

Most of the time we have extra funds approved for the customer as well as consolidating their debts. It all depends on your affordability which will be assessed and your Loan Consultant will discuss the options with you.

Insurance

What types of Insurance do you offer?

We have four different policies available as follows:

1. Credit Contract Indemnity Insurance (CCI) – This covers you in the event you are unable to work due to sickness, accident, or if you should unfortunately be made redundant. It also repays your loan should you die.
2. Vehicle Warranties – Covers against unexpected mechanical or electrical faults.
3. Comprehensive Vehicle Insurance – This covers the vehicle against accident damage and theft.
4. Guaranteed Asset Protection (GAP) – This covers you against the shortfall if your insurance company payout is less than your loan settlement.

We go over the features and benefits of all insurance products to ensure they are suitable for you. All products are optional and are fully underwritten.

What is the cost?

The cost of a CCI policy varies depending on the size of your loan and the loan term. Warranties depend upon the year, make, model and mileage of your vehicle, and your driving history. The cost of any premium can be added to your loan or you can pay separately. Please contact us for a quote.

Personal Loans

What can I use a personal Loan for and do you need security?

Money from a Personal Loan can be used for anything you like (as long as it is legal!) and we are able to offer unsecured loans up to $50,000 subject to lending checks and lending criteria.

Larger loans may require security and we are able to use motor vehicles, properties, or a variety of other assets.

Your Loan Consultant will discuss this with you.

Property Loans

What if my property has a mortgage on it?

Most of our clients do have a mortgage on their property. This is not a problem as we calculate the available equity after allowing for this mortgage. Depending on the deal we may require confirmation of the outstanding balance from the mortgage holder.

Do I need to have my property insured?

Yes we will require proof of insurance over the property as it is security for the loan.

What if the property is owned by a Trust?

No problem, we have the loan documentation completed in a specific way that you sign as a trustee of the Trust and then normally a guarantee in your personal name.

It will depend on your trust, but all trustees will likely need to agree & sign the contract.

Car Loans

Do you do Pre Approvals?

Most definitely!

We thoroughly recommend getting pre-approved prior to purchasing your next vehicle. Pre-approvals normally last for 30 days giving you plenty of time to track down that bargain.

Alternatively, we can sometimes offer an unsecured loan and pay the funds directly to you so you can then go vehicle shopping with cash.

Do you finance Private Sales?

Yes.

We are able to finance vehicles bought privately, through Trademe, vehicle tender or auction. We are not affiliated with any car dealers.
